1. Topical Agents

Topical agents are inorganic substances applied to the skin or mucous membranes for protective, antiseptic, or therapeutic purposes.

2. Protectives

Protectives form a protective layer on the skin and prevent irritation by external agents. Common examples include zinc oxide, calamine, and titanium dioxide.

3. Antiseptics and Disinfectants

4. Adsorbents

Adsorbents are substances that bind toxins or gases on their surface. They are used externally and internally to reduce irritation and toxicity.
