1. Electrolytes

Electrolytes are inorganic substances that dissociate into ions when dissolved in water. They play a vital role in maintaining fluid balance, osmotic pressure, and acid–base balance in the body.

2. Pharmaceutical Electrolytes

3. Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS)

ORS are electrolyte preparations used to prevent and treat dehydration caused by diarrhea and vomiting. They restore fluid and electrolyte balance effectively.

4. Gastrointestinal Agents

Inorganic gastrointestinal agents include antacids, cathartics, and laxatives used to neutralize gastric acid and relieve constipation.

5. Pharmaceutical Applications
